Evaluation of the Acute Effect of Daru Haridradi Kashaya in the Management of Blood Glucose Level in Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 – A Pilot Study

Diabetes mellitus is a category of metabolic disorders that are characterized by elevated blood glucose levels resulting from insulin synthesis defects, insulin activity, or both. It is correlated with “Madhumeha” describe under the Prameharoga in Ayurveda. This scientific study has been conducted to evaluate the acute effect of Daruharidradikashaya. Daruharidra, Harithaki, Vibhitaki, Amalaki, Mustha and Devadara are ingredients of it.In clinical study ten were selected and given instruction for same diet, lifestyle and antidiabetic drugs for two weeks and specially advised to have same dinner enriched with fiber and protein before the blood test. Then kept fasting for 10 hours. After first week 120ml of Daruharidradi Kashayawas given to the patient while blood drawing for Fasting Blood Sugar FBS test. Then Oral Glucose Tolerance Test OGTT was done. In their second visit 120ml of Luke warm water was given on behalf of the drug and repeated same procedure. FBS and OGTT levels were separately measured and average levels are considered. Also a non parametric test called “Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test” was applied for testing the difference between two dependent samples. Since p values are not less than 0.05, efficacy of the Daruharidradi Kashaya has not been shown statistically significance at 5 percent significant level for all the periods of times. The effectiveness of the drug has not been statistically significant for the remaining periods of times. So it can be concluded that the acute action of Daruharidradi Kashayais not effective for reduce blood glucose level for the remaining period of times. Daruharidradi Kashaya has chronic effectiveness for Diabetes mellitus. So there may be some issues with the acute effect of it. Therefore, for a perfect conclusion, the study sample should be expand under more numbers of patients and the study setting should be IPD inward patient department of the hospital. There is an open field for new researchers to increase this study sample and repeat this procedure.

Identification of Leaf Spot Causing Pathogen Through ITS Sequencing in Clove and it's Management Using Bioagents, Botanicals and Chemicals
Clove tree is mostly grown in the hilly tracts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The leaves of clove seedling and grown up trees were frequently infected with leaf spot disease. The pathogen inciting leaf spot disease was isolated and identified as Colletotrichumgloeosporioides based on ITS1-5.8s, ITS-2 rDNA sequence analysis. The present study was concerned with bio agents, fungicides and botanicals which were tested against C. gloeosporioides. Among the bio agents, Trichodermaharzianum was found effective with 72.22 % growth inhibition. Among the botanicals , garlic extract at 5% and 10% concentration levels was found to be effective with 56.66 and 62.66 % growth inhibition respectively followed by ginger extract 48.88 and 49.66 % growth inhibition. Among chemicals, propiconazole (0.1% and 0.2%) was found to be the most effective fungicide in inhibiting 100 % growth of C. gloeosporioides followed by hexaconazole with 87.44 and 88.55 % growth inhibition at 0.1% and 0.2% respectively.

A Survey Analysis On Diabetes

Healthcare is such a wide and extensive area of research wherein diabetes is such a deadly disease which hampers a common man life at the extreme end. Under healthcare, there is always a chance for uncertainty and imprecision under various aspects of medical diagnosis process.

This paper reviews various existing methodologies and techniques used for early diagnosis of diabetes mellitus which works like risk alarms to save human life. This survey gives us current state of research in diagnosing disease like diabetes and helps us to find out difficulties with the existing systems.

Heritability of Blood Pressure Among Random Adult Individuals of South Indian States

Heritability of Blood Pressure Among Random Adult Individuals of South Indian States

Hypertension is considered to be a major health concern and a threat for mortality and morbidity in individuals caused due to myocardial infarction, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. Our study comprises of 200 randomly chosen nuclear families from five different South Indian states during the period of June, 2016 to December, 2017. A total of 750 individuals (both parents and off spring) are studied. About 103 families are selected from Telangana State, 25 families from Andhra Pradesh State, 13 families from Tamil Nadu State, 35 families from Karnataka State and 24 families from Kerala State.

Information is gathered from each member of the family and Blood Pressure is measured. A linear fit is tried and regression coefficients are estimated and found to be significant using student' t-test and F-test. The linear equation Y = a + bx is taken where x is mid parental value and Y is average of offspring and regression of offspring on mid parental value is equal to heritability. The regression coefficient and R2 values (0.271, t and F; P < 0.05 and 0.074) for diastolic blood pressure are higher than those values (0.083, t and F; P

Genetic Diversity Studies in Rice for Bacterial Leaf Blight Resistance

Genetic Diversity Studies in Rice for Bacterial Leaf Blight Resistance

Bacterial blight (BLB), caused by Xanthomonas oryzae PV. oryzae (Xoo) is one of the most destructive diseases active in the major rice growing countries of Asia. In field level screening, the genotypes PY5 and Kadaikannan showed immune against rice BLB. Under artificial condition, IR 11C 114, Adukan and Kadaikannan shows resistant to bacterial leaf blight. The trait single plant yield showed positive significant correlation with plant height (0.21), number of productive tillers (0.19) and thousand grain weight (0.37).
