Novel Drug Delivery System An Overview

August 25, 2021 0
Novel Drug Delivery System An Overview

In present scenario evolution of an existing drug molecule from a old form to a novel delivery system can significantly improve its performance in terms of patient compliance, safety and efficacy. In the form of a control drug delivery system an existing drug molecule can get a new life. An appropriately designed Novel Drug Delivery System can be a major advance for solving the problems related towards the release of the drug at specific site with specific rate. The porpuse for delivering drugs to patients efficiently and with fewer side effects has prompted pharmaceutical companies to engage in the development of new drug delivery system. This article covers the basic information regarding Novel Drug Delivery Systems and also advantages, factor etc.

Formulation Development and Evaluation of Oral Fast Dissolving Films of Metaclopromide HCL

December 15, 2019 0
Formulation Development and Evaluation of Oral Fast Dissolving Films of Metaclopromide HCL
Metaclopromide HCl is an Anti emetic used to tre
at nausea, vomiting and to increase gastric motility. The present work aimed at preparing oral fast dissolving films of Metaclopromide HCl with the purpose of developing a dosage form for a very quick onset of action, which is very convenient for administration, without the problem of swallowing and using water. Oral fast dissolving films of Metaclopromide HCl were prepared using HPMC E5, E15 polymers as film forming agents and polyethylene glycol 400 as plasticizer by solvent casting method. FTIR showed that there is no interaction between drug and excipients. Dissolution of prepared fast dissolving oral films of Metaclopromide HCl was performed using USP type II apparatus in pH 6.8 phosphate buffer medium at 50 rpm with temperature being maintained at 37 0.5º C. The films prepared were evaluated for various parameters like thickness, drug content uniformity, weight variation, disintegration time, folding endurance and in vitro drug release and were showed satisfactory results. In conclusion, development of oral fast dissolving oral films using HPMC polymer gives rapid drug delivery and rapid onset of action.

Illustrative Review on Needle Free Injection Technology

December 02, 2019 0
Illustrative Review on Needle Free Injection Technology
Needle free injection technology was developed in order to initiate reduction in the number of needle stick accidents and associated issues. An extensive literature review was completed in thought with needle free injection technology and its applications, edges over needle injections, their components and types such as powder injection, liquid injection, or projectile injection. This review provides a description on needle free injection technology considering the involvement of generation of force by using compressed gas upon actuation in order to deliver a drug at very high speed through a nozzle. Also injection methods that use a spring load jet injector, battery powdered jet injector, and gas powdered jet injector are described. An overview of marketed merchandise, recent trends and other needle free drug delivery systems is given. Needle free injection technology is growing and has the potential to make the administration of drugs more economical, safe and convenient.

Different Variable and Recent Development in Noval Buccal Drug Delivery System

July 08, 2019 0
Different Variable and Recent Development in Noval Buccal Drug Delivery System

The buccal region of the oral cavity is an attractive target for administration of the drug of choice, particularly in overcoming deficiencies associated with the latter mode of administration. Problems such as high first pass metabolism and drug degradation in the gastrointestinal environment can be circumvented by administering the drug via the buccal route. Moreover, rapid onset of action can be achieved relative to the oral route and the formulation can be removed if therapy is required to be discontinued. It is also possible to administer drugs to patients who unconscious and less co operative. To prevent accidental swallowing of drugs adhesive mucosal dosage forms were suggested for oral delivery, which included adhesive tablets, adhesive gels, adhesive patches and many other dosage forms with various combinations of polymers, absorption enhancers. Natural polymers have recently gained importance in pharmaceutical field. Mucoadhesive polymers are used to improve drug delivery by enhancing the dosage form's contact time and residence time with the mucous membranes. Mucoadhesion may be defined as the process where polymers attach to biological substrate or a synthetic or natural macromolecule, to mucus or an epithelial surface. When the biological substrate is attached to a mucosal layer then this phenomenon is known as mucoadhesion. The substrate possessing bioadhesive polymer can help in drug delivery for a prolonged period of time at a specific delivery site. The studies of Mucoadhesive polymers provide a good approach of mucoadhesion and some factors which have the ability to affect the mucoadhesive properties of a polymer. Both natural and synthetic polymers are used for the preparation of mucoadhesive buccal patches. In addition to this, studies have been conducted on the development of controlled or slow release delivery systems for systemic and local therapy of diseases in the oral cavity.

Novel Drug Carriers to Target Lymphatic System - A Review

Novel Drug Carriers to Target Lymphatic System - A Review

In the body, there is a system which is responsible for the specific resistance and in some aspects; non specific resistance is the lymphatic system which maintains homeostatic balance. This system closely allied with all the systems. Lymphatic system consist fluid called, lymph. It assists in circulating body fluids and helps in defend the body against disease causing agents.

B cells, T cells and antibodies protect all body systems from attack by harmful foreign invaders (pathogens), foreign cells, and cancer cells. Major functions of lymphatic system are draining excess interstitial fluid, transport dietary lipids and carring out immune responses. Now a days there is a high risk to immune system because of the diseases or due to disorders.

In recent innovations, nano technology plays a major role and there are the different drug carriers are used to avoid the major damage to immune system. This review explains about the drug carriers to target lymphatic system to release the drug at a specific part in the lymphatic organs, tissue or lymph in different disease conditions.
