Assessment of Students’ Achievement of Learning Outcomes by using Different Assessment Approaches

The present study was conducted on 1rtyear, radiological sciences students at Najran University to evaluate the achievement of undergraduate radiological sciences students in the CLOs assessment. Learning outcomes assessment for Introductory Physics 204 PHST 2 Year I at Department of Radiological sciences, Najran University was conducted by direct methods and compared the results of students’ achievement of the course learning outcomes by using different assessment approaches. The study was applied on30 students who enrolled in the course during academic year 2019 2020.Direct measurement was applied by linking of each CLO to exams questions on quizzes, midterm exams, final exams and Lab reports. The current study emphasizes that, both of the average and threshold approaches can examine the overall performance of the course, while the performance vector approach can display the distribution of students’ achievements of the course.

The Grüneisen Parameter and Higher Order Thermo Elastic Properties of Fe, Co at Higher Pressures

June 02, 2020 0
The Grüneisen Parameter and Higher Order Thermo Elastic Properties of Fe, Co at Higher Pressures
Expressions have been obtained for the higher order Thermo elastic properties of the Grüneisen parameter in the limit of infinite pressure The usefulness of these expressions has been demonstrated by considering a relationship between reciprocal Grüneisen parameter and the pressure bulk modulus ratio at finite pressure. The results have been obtained using the shanker reciprocal gamma relationship. The results have also been determined using the Stacey Davis formulations for the third order Grüneisen parameters. The calculations have been performed in case of transition metals Fe and Co for the wide range of compressions. It has been found that both the models yield close agreement with each other. The obtained results in the present paper satisfy the thermodynamic constraints in the limit of infinite pressure.

Pressure Dependent of Melting Temperature for MgO and Hcp Iron

June 01, 2020 0
Pressure Dependent of Melting Temperature for MgO and Hcp Iron
The Volume dependence of the Grüneisen parameter has been used to calculate the pressure dependence of melting temperature for MgO and hcp iron using Lindemann law. The Volume dependence of the Grüneisen Parameter has been determined using gamma volume V relationship due to Al'tshuler and reciprocal gamma volume V relationship due to Srivastava et al. The calculations are performed between pressure range 55GPa 330GPa. The values of Melting temperature are calculated at different pressures and compared with the available data reported in the literature.

Optical Response of MoSe2 Crystals

December 17, 2016 0
Optical Response of MoSe2 Crystals
Solar power is a very important source of renewable energy for many low power systems. Matching the power consumption level with the supply level can make a great difference in the efficiency of power utilization. MoSe2, crystals (photo-electrodes) have been grown via a direct vapour transport technique. This paper presents results of Photo Voltage (VPh) Vs. Photo current (IPh)curves measured for MoSe2 crystals of different Intensity levels between 10, 20,'¦100W/cm2 in Polychromatic as well as Monochromatic light. We finding the Open circuit Voltage (VOC), Short circuit current(ISC), fill factor and photo conversion efficiency (?) of Mose2 crystals. The Photo conversion efficiency of this MoSe2 crystals are less than 0.1% in Polychromatic light but nearly 1% in Monochromatic light

FTIR Spectra of Ni (H-dmg)2 Hydrogen Bonded With Six Dyes

December 16, 2016 0
FTIR Spectra of Ni (H-dmg)2 Hydrogen Bonded With Six Dyes
Here the one-dimensional semiconductor namely bis (dimethyiglyoximato) Ni?? is hydrogen bonded with 6 highly polarizable dyes which are Para red, Congo red, Direct red, Bismark brown, Evans blue and Trypan blue. The hydrogen bonding was verified with FTIR spectroscopy. FTIR specra also reveal modification of absorption edges by exciton-phonon coupling there are threshold energies for the formation of free excitons and electron-hole pairs with phonon emissions in the intrinsic absorption edge spectrum. The remainder absorption at the value of the band gap is proportional to the exciton ionization energy in both direct and indirect excitons. This remainder absorption increases with the increase in the number of phonon bands in the absorption edge.

FTIR Spectra of Magnetic Charge Transfer Complexes of TEMPO Free Radical

December 14, 2016 0
FTIR Spectra of Magnetic Charge Transfer Complexes of TEMPO Free Radical
The Fourier '“ transform infrared spectra of complexes of TEMPO free radical with organic acceptors like TCNE, DDQ, TCNQ, Chloranil has been studied. Some of them have ferro or antiferromagnetic properties at very low temperatures. From FTIR spectra, these complexes are found to be small band-gap semiconductors. They are interpreted as Hubbard semiconductors having non-universal band gap. They also show either asymmetric or symmetric Gaussian band revealing electronic delocalization. They are expected to be paramagnetic.

Spectroscopic Study of Electronically - Doped Polyanilines

December 10, 2016 0
Spectroscopic Study of Electronically - Doped Polyanilines
Polyanilines namely emeraldine, nigraniline and pernigraniline were prepared by chemical method and were electronically-doped with organic acceptors such as, TCNE, TCNQ, DDQ, Chloranil and KI-I2. The FTIR spectra of 20% and 50% doped polyanilines were obtained and analyzed using small polaron model which connected electrical conductivity with IR absorption. Emeraldine prepared by standard method and pure emeraldine as readily obtained wee used. The absorption profiles as experimentally obtained and as calculated using small-polaron model were compared. This comparison leads to frequency '“dependence of the real part of refractive index which shows dispersion shape as desired.

On the low temperature resistivity measurement of CdSe thin film
Most group II-VI compounds are direct band gap semiconductors with high optical absorption and emission coefficients .Cadmium Selenide is a leading candidate with high potential towards many applications. The authors present their investigations dealing with preparation and some electrical characterization of the CdSe thin films. The films were deposited onto a well-cleaned glass substrates using thermal evaporation technique. The dependence of electrical resistivity of CdSe thin film in low temperature range has been studied.

Developing a Constructivist Model for Effective Physics Learning

January 15, 2016 0
Developing a Constructivist Model for Effective Physics Learning
The paper considered developing a constructivist model for effective physics teaching. The model is imperative because of the increasing difficulty in learning physics and the resulting poor academic performance in the subject. The paper reviewed two types of constructivism which are the social and cognitive constructivism. Highlights of correlations between the constructivist learning and the authentic learning were revealed. To applying the model to physics learning, it was argued that constructivist teachers should give serious attention to the prior knowledge of the students.

This will determine the mode of teacher instruction. The teacher content knowledge and pedagogical knowledge are central to excellent teaching. The paper concludes that physics teacher should promote student interactions and respect student ideas: being the kernel of the constructivist learning.
