ESGP PA Scholars in the University of Eastern Philippines Their Academic Performance, Challenges, and Perceived Solutions

The ESGP PA scholars in the University of Eastern Philippines, in spite of the financial grant, have their fair share of challenges at home, in school, and with the scholarship management. This descriptive qualitative study delved into documenting the scholars’ academic performance, discovering a myriad of their challenges, unlocking in them their perceived solutions, and mapped out recommendations designed to help the ESGP PA Scholarship Management for the academic advancement of the scholars. Results revealed that the scholars are fairly performing their academics but are affronted of school related challenges ranging from hectic class schedule and time limitations in requirement submissions to pressures in maintaining their grades given their non regular school attendance. For school management related, they get to experience delays of the financial grant, and long queues for scholarship renewal and other submissions. At home, they are torn between their school and family priorities. This is aside from experiences of low familial support to their education and financial obligation, where the bulk of their allowance goes to aid their family needs and as capital build up for the livelihood ventures of their parents. In the light of these circumstances, the scholars thought of perceived solutions, which to them are the be all answers.

Computer Based Training and Leaning under the Influence of the COVID 19 Pandemic A Case of South African Institutions of Higher Learning
The article investigates computer based training during the COVID 19 pandemic in South Africa's Institutions of Higher Learning, as well as assess the feasibility of Computer Based Learning in the post COVID era. The data was gathered through the use of desk top research by looking at how various South African university institutions have made CBT an important learning and teaching tool when it comes to copying with the politics that came about with lockdowns such as the closure of schools as a way to manage the spread of the pandemic. The study reveals that, the emergent appearance of the COVID 19 pandemic in South Africa, saw an increased usage of computers and mobile phones as an alternative learning tool which could eventually replace face to face learning. It is however revealed that, the success of computer based training and learning heavily relies on efficiency and reliability of computer infrastructure, reliable internet connectivity as well as knowledge of computer technology by instructors and learners. The research is however, limited to the confines and experiences of South African educators and learners and concludes by giving recommendations on how these challenges can be solved.

Classroom Styles as Discerning and Constructivism

September 28, 2021 0
Classroom Styles as Discerning and Constructivism
Constructivism improves thinking skills, statement and social talents, encourages unusual methods of appraisal, helps student's removal skills to the real realm and promotes intrinsic inspiration to learn. Discerning and Constructivism are the big notions in education. Their inferences for how educators teach, and study to teach are immense. Rather than getting ‘knowledge' from professionals in training periods, teachers and executives will have to team up with peers, academics, and their own scholars to make intellect of discerning and constructivism. Merely then we can convert our nation, via education, into an attentive, critical, scientific area, imbued with the desire for truth and for total social prosperity. If we want a futurity that is much more solicitous, vastly more compliant, greatly more concerned, and a lot more amorous, then we have to devise it. The prospect is in our schools, schoolrooms and humanity today.

The instruments for data collection was Basic Science and Technology interest Scale BSTIS with reliability coefficient of 0.98. Data obtained were analyzed using mean and standard deviation for research questions and analysis of covariance ANCOVA for the hypotheses. The results from the study showed a significant difference in interest scores of students exposed to Basic Science and Technology using team teaching strategy and their counterparts exposed to Basic Science and Technology using conventional teaching strategy. It also revealed gender has significant difference in interest of students exposed to Basic Science and Technology using team teaching strategy in favour of boys. Soulfulness and the Education

September 11, 2021 0
Soulfulness and the Education
The time has come for soulful learning. We have had decent of machine like overtures to education which girdle the human soul. The present inclinations of outcomes based education and liability drain the strength from our schoolrooms. The pressure for enumerating all learning without apprehension for quality suppresses the student's emotion. Instead, we can learn to convey onto the Earth a schooling of deep joy anywhere the soul once again acquires to sing. Soulful learning encourages the inside life of the student and links it to the external life and the background. It recognizes and gives priority to the human emotional rather than simply developing individuals who can “contend in the global efficiency.” Reinstating the soul to education is not a new vision. It is vision enounced by the Greeks and various congenital people for spans. It is ascertained in Taoism and the in the pedagogies of Christ and the Buddha. Why should plan to less than our ascendants Education has lost its manner we need to look for the soul to recover and recall our “original attribute to the existence”.

Designing Fundamental Elements for Inclusive Education
In Inclusive Education system the teacher has to understand and make necessary arrangements for providing content to all variety of students like, learning disability, deaf or hard of hearing, visual, emotional, speech, orthopaedic and other common non disabled students. There are certain things that are unique to require to specific disability, for example, A blind child and would require a writer, he dictates the answer and writer writes for the blind child and child with loco motor disability or he she can be given computer for writing such modifications and flexibility should be there in the learning environment in the class room. But the content would be same for all children. However, despite the importance of teachers and their pedagogies as agents of change, we should not lose sight of the ‘public pedagogies' and their prodigious impact on the policymaking process.

Strengthening School Based Management Level of Practice through School LGU Partnership in Addressing the Modular Printed Learners in the New Normal

Strengthening School Based Management Level of Practice through School LGU Partnership in Addressing the Modular Printed Learners in the New Normal

No pandemic could stop the world from learning. In the Philippines, the creative design of the Department of Education through its distance learning delivery as the learning continuity plan answers the need to educate the learners amidst pandemic. In accordance to Memorandum DM CI 2020 00162 Appendix G, the local government unit is held responsible for their constituents and to serve the community residents in their own locality. Meanwhile, Agusan del Sur National High School is successful in tapping the Local Government Unit of San Francisco, Agusan del Sur and utilizing their resources with the approval of the Municipal Mayor. This study presents the proof of implementation of the 7 month course of action of the printed module distribution and retrieval at the 10 barangay distribution centers within San Francisco SF municipality proper, 1 school pick up for Barangays outside SF municipality and 1 distribution center as far as Campbagang, Surigao del Sur. These centers were manned by two 2 designated focal persons and by one or two teachers per grade level who facilitated the implementation process. This was started by a series of information drive at the barangay level after signing a MOA in partnership with LGU SF. Every other Friday of the month, the Barangay Distribution and Retrieval of Printed Modules BDRPM were carried out except at the school pick up where every grade level has their own schedule. It has been observed that teachers are doing their responsibilities in coordinating the barangay council and helping each other to serve the purpose. Giving favor to the parents are among of its advantages to include easy accessibility of the instructional material, less expense, and less time exposure. This partnership was commended being the best practice of the school and was applauded during School Based Management SBM evaluation. It is then recommended to continue the practice and plan of action in motivating the Barangay officials as co learning facilitators in response to modular printed learners in difficult circumstances.
