A Study to Assess the Knowledge Regarding Emotional Exhaustion and Its Prevention among Staff Nurses in Selected Hospital, Kanpur, U.P.
A quick and unpredicted state of health care puts nurses at risk of injury and illness. Nurses have big responsibilities and great challenges. Nurses are exhibit to many pressing needs and pressures and are therefore at greater risk for a wide range of health, safety and other problems. Emotional exhaustion is a chronic illness caused by exhaustion. Methods Evaluative research approach was used for this study and it aims to assess the knowledge regarding emotional exhaustion and its prevention among staff nurses. Structured knowledge questionnaire regarding emotional exhaustion and its prevention were used. Non probability convenient sampling technique was used to select the sample. Result This revealed that 59 of the staff nurses had inadequate knowledge and 41 had moderately adequate and no one having adequate knowledge regarding emotional exhaustion and its prevention. The chi squared test value was found to be statistically significant at p value. Conclusion Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions were drawn that highest percentage of staff nurses having inadequate knowledge and lowest percentage of staff nurses having moderately adequate knowledge and no one having adequate knowledge regarding emotional exhaustion and its prevention. Therefore knowledge of staff nurses can be further improved by providing in service education, educational programmes, or health education in this aspect.

Material and method A pre experimental research design were used for the present study. A study sample of 50 students of GNM 2nd year were selected by non probability purposive sampling technique. The data was collected by self structured questionnaire regarding cardio pulmonary resuscitation among BGNM 2nd year students in Desh Bhagat University School of Nursing Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab. The data was analyzed in terms of objectives of the study using descriptive and inferential statistics in terms of frequency, percentage distribution, mean, Standard deviation,‘t' value, and chi square. Results As per percentage distribution of student according to age and gender it was found that Maximum students were in 21yrs 64 followed by, in 20yrs 20 in above 21years 12 and in 19 yrs 4 included in age group. A Study to Assess the Effectiveness of Interpretive Educative Session in Improving the Knowledge on Interpretation Regarding Arterial Blood Gas Values among Critical Care Nurses in Selected Hospitals at Gwalior
Arterial blood gas ABG analysis is one of the most basic tests of pulmonary function, performed routinely in hospitals throughout the world. The proper application of the concepts of acid base imbalance will help the health care provider not only to follow the progress of the patient but also to evaluate the effectiveness of care being provided. Accurate assessment of the relationship between abnormal blood gas findings and a patient's overall clinical condition is a common challenge for critical care nurses. To meet this challenge, nurses must understand the mechanisms underlying acid base balance and the common causes of acid base imbalance. Considering this major problem, a study was carried out with a purpose of identifying the effectiveness of interpretive educative session in improving the knowledge on interpretation regarding arterial blood gas values among critical care nurses in a selected hospital at Gwalior.

Evaluate and Compare the Effectiveness of Back Care with Traditional Method versus Cavilon Spray in Term of Prevention of Decubitus Ulcer in Bedridden Patients
A pressure ulcers is a localized area of tissue necrosis that tends to develop when soft tissue is compressed for a prolonged period of time between a bony prominence and an external surface. The frequency of pressure ulcers ranges from3 14 globally. The incidence of pressure ulcer in hospital has been reported to be 23 to 27.5 Prevention of pressure ulcers is a significant nursing concern. Nurses' ability to identify the patient at risk for the formation of the pressure ulcer would help to reduce the costs of treatment. Pressure ulcers not only cause suffering to the patients but also increases the economical burden.

A Study to Analyse the Risk Factors Associated with Development of Cancer of Cervical among Patients with Cancer at Siddhanta Red Cross Hospital Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh
The present study has been undertaken to add evidence based information in the field of cervical cancer to analyze the risk factors associated with development of those cancers in the Siddhanta Red Cross hospital Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The study aimed to describe the development of a risk scoring system for identifying a high risk group of women associated with increased risk of development of disease. The selection of sample was done by using convenient non probability sampling technique. The total sample size for the study was 15 cervical cancer patients included in the study. After identifying the risk factors associate with the development of a disease, it may be possible to rank them or give scores. It has been indicated that risk related intervention is more efficient than uniform allocation of resources, with potential benefit increasing with the discriminatory power of the risk scores. However, no such attempts have been made in India for assessing the exact risk factor associated with cervical cancer. Based on the evidence from the collected data it was revealed that the risk factor associated with the formation of cervical cancer are family history of cervical cancer, early age of pregnancy, more than 3 parity, history of reproductive tract infection and history of infection with Human Papilloma Virus.

Comparative Study on Perinatal Depression among Normal and High Risk Pregnant Women

September 02, 2021 0
Comparative Study on Perinatal Depression among Normal and High Risk Pregnant Women
Background Mental health is a crucial part of overall wellbeing. It is estimated that 7 to 20 women are suffering from depression during pregnancy. Depression mainly affects the women during perinatal period. If it is not treated properly in early stage of pregnancy it leads to post partum depression and can affect fetal development also. Methods Quantitative approach with non experimental comparative research design was adopted to study the perinatal depression among normal and high risk pregnant women. The study was conducted in antenatal OPD of IMS and SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Hundred normal pregnant women and 100 high risk pregnant women were selected purposively. The tools used to collect the data were 1. Socio demographic questionnaire, 2. Beck depression Inventory. The data were entered and analysed in SPSS version 20. Result Almost one third from normal 32 and high risk pregnant women 36 had mild mood disturbances. Equal and 5 of women from normal and high risk pregnant women had border line clinical disturbance and equal and 2 of normal and high risk pregnant women had moderate depression. It can be interpreted that almost one third of women had different levels of depression. There was no difference found in the level of depression between normal and high risk pregnant women. Conclusion Depression during pregnancy is the major health problem among reproductive aged women. If it is not treated properly in early stage of pregnancy, it becomes post partum depression and can affect fetal development also.
