Comparative Analysis of Different Numerical Methods for the Solution of Initial Value Problems in First Order Ordinary Differential Equations

A mathematical equation which involves a function and its derivatives is called a differential equation. We consider a real life situation, from this form a mathematical model, solve that model using some mathematical concepts and take interpretation of solution. It is a well known and popular concept in mathematics because of its massive application in real world problems. Differential equations are one of the most important mathematical tools used in modeling problems in Physics, Biology, Economics, Chemistry, Engineering and medical Sciences. Differential equation can describe many situations viz exponential growth and de cay, the population growth of species, the change in investment return over time. We can solve differential equations using classical as well as numerical methods, In this paper we compare numerical methods of solving initial valued first order ordinary differential equations namely Euler method, Improved Euler method, Runge Kutta method and their accuracy level. We use here Scilab Software to obtain direct solution for these methods.

Application of Markov Chain Model on Natural Disasters A Case Study of Fire Outbreak

August 14, 2021 0
Application of Markov Chain Model on Natural Disasters A Case Study of Fire Outbreak

Right from the beginning of life, the importance of fire cannot be over emphasized as man embraces evolution which is accompanied by new innovations, discoveries and technology. Despite its importance, fire outbreak causes negative effects on human being and the society at large. Poor dissemination of information regarding fire disasters, causes of fire disaster, mitigating methods and risk management has led to an increase in exposure the society to greater risk. Therefore, there is a need to predict the location that a fire disaster is likely to occur using Markov chain. The study revealed that fire outbreaks can occur in any place and at a different magnitude, therefore, everybody has to be on guard. The finding also revealed that places that experienced fire disasters will still experience in the future if not properly managed. We recommended that the government should create awareness through advertisement programs, training centers, seminars and encourage the integration of fire disasters into the school curriculum to ensure sufficient and effective fire disaster mitigation and management.

RP 165 Solving Some Special Classes of Standard Cubic Congruence of Composite Modulus

In this paper, a special class of standard cubic congruence of composite modulus is studied and formulated the solutions. The discussion is presented here. This cubic congruence has three types of solutions. In first case, it has exactly 3 incongruent solutions in second case, it has nine incongruent solutions and in third case it has twenty seven incongruent solutions. First time a suitable formulation is available for a class of standard cubic congruence. So, formulation is the merit of the paper.

Fundamentals of Parameterised Covering Approximation Space

Fundamentals of Parameterised Covering Approximation Space

Combination of theories has not only advanced the research, but also helped in handling the issues of impreciseness in real life problems. The soft rough set has been defined by many authors by combining the theories of soft set and rough set. The concept Soft Covering Based Rough Set be given by J.Zhan et al 2008 , Feng Feng et al 2011 , S.Yuksel et al 2015 by taking full soft set instead of Covering. In this note We first consider the covering soft set and then covering based soft rough set. Again it defines a mapping from the coverings of element of universal set U to the parameters attributes . The new model “Parameterised Soft Rough Set on Covering Approximation Space is conceptualised to capture the issues of vagueness, and impreciseness of information. Also dependency on this new model and some properties be studied.

A Study on Power Mean Labeling of the Graphs and Vertex Odd Power Mean Labeling of Graphs

This paper we discuss with power mean labeling of graph and Vertex Odd Power Mean Labeling of Graphs. A graph = , is referred as Power Mean graph with , q , if it is feasible to label the vertices with different elements from 1, 2, 3, ..., 1 in such a way that when each edge = is labeled with f e=uv = f u f v f v f u 1 f u f v In this paper we define Vertex Odd Power Mean labeling and investigate the same for some graphs. We define Vertex Odd Power Mean labeling for the graph G V, E with vertices and q edges, if it is feasible to label the vertices with different labelings f from {1, 3, 5, ..., 2 –  1} in such a way that when each edge = is labeled with f e=uv = f u f v f v f u 1 f u f v or f e=uv = f u f v f v f u 1 f u f v and the edge labeling are distinct. The graph which admits the Vertex Odd Power Mean labeling, is called Vertex Odd Power Mean graph.

Application of Arithmetic Progression in Equilateral Triangle as Mathematics Brain Teaser

September 20, 2020 0
Application of Arithmetic Progression in Equilateral Triangle as Mathematics Brain Teaser

In a classroom situation generally homogeneous teaching goes for heterogeneous groups of students. Mathematically gifted students always require some differentiated instruction from those of other students because they demonstrate an uneven pattern of mathematical understanding and development. Though they are endowed with high computation skills, problem solving strategies, inferential thinking skills, or deductive reasoning and are often able to discern answers with unusual speed and accuracy even smart enough in finding the inter relationships among and between ideas, topics, and concepts without the intervention of formal instruction specifically geared to that particular content, yet several factors never allow them to nourish their creativity as teachers are overloaded, non friendly mathematics curriculum, sometimes lack of parental support. To address this issue a mathematical brain teaser typically designed to stimulate cognitive processes and involves lateral logical thinking of those gifted students in order to solve the teaser for amusement even. Actually in a specially designed equilateral triangle Several equal number of intra parallel lines from each side of triangle with same distance between the parallels produces many triangles, parallelograms, trapeziums, rhombus, and regular hexagons. Gifted students may count those Geometrical figures faster than the others and those answers can be justified by using formulas developed by me. Those formulas are developed with the help of simple concept of arithmetic progression. It would help to develop and improve cognitive functions via logical reasoning of those gifted students.

RP 56 Reformulation of Solutions of a Standard Quadratic Congruence of Composite Modulus An Eighth Multiple of a Product of Two Odd Primes

In this paper, the author considered a very general type of standard quadratic congruence of composite modulus an eighth multiple of product of two odd primes for reformulation of its solutions. The author’s first formulation was very simple but readers had to use many formulae for its solutions. Now the reformulation reduces the numbers of formulae for solutions. The discovered formula is justified and verified by using some required suitable numerical examples. The congruence is first time formulated. It is the merit of the paper. The existed method is complicated and time consuming. Now a time saving formulation is obtained.

Learning of Advanced Mathematics by Chinese Liberal Arts Students A Study of Developing Applied Mathematical Ability

According to statistics, more than 90 of Chinese universities have offered advanced mathematics for liberal arts students as a general course since 2003 to cultivate their scientific literacy and problem solving ability. This study aims to provide a feasible approach for liberal arts students to accept the value of mathematics and apply mathematical methods to academic research and real world problems solution. In the Applied Probability and Statistics class with the attendance of 154 liberal arts freshmen, this study is designed to discuss and value on the five mathematics application reports as examples. Then liberal arts students were interviewed on evaluating these 5 mathematics application reports. 28 mathematics application reports were completed by 154 students in groups and cooperation, which were analyzed on how mathematics was incorporated into their reports. The qualitative analysis of the interview results found that the discussion and evaluation of these 5 mathematics application reports about applying mathematics and solving social problems can stimulate liberal arts students' interest in mathematics and realize the value of mathematics application. Therefore, peer mathematics application is a way for liberal arts students to realize mathematics value. Through the classification analysis of the 28 mathematics application reports completed by the liberal arts students, their three forms of mathematics application can be summarized as follows applying the regularity of mathematical argument instead of the special case of the practice test in social cognition using data analysis to monitor the probabilities of plausible reasoning developing their applied mathematical ability to solve daily life problems.

The Super Stability of Third Order Linear Ordinary Differential Homogeneous Equation with Boundary Condition

The stability problem is a fundamental issue in the design of any distributed systems like local area networks, multiprocessor systems, distribution computation and multidimensional queuing systems. In Mathematics stability theory addresses the stability solutions of differential, integral and other equations, and trajectories of dynamical systems under small perturbations of initial conditions. Differential equations describe many mathematical models of a great interest in Economics, Control theory, Engineering, Biology, Physics and to many areas of interest. In this study the recent work of Jinghao Huang, Qusuay. H. Alqifiary, and Yongjin Li in establishing the super stability of differential equation of second order with boundary condition was extended to establish the super stability of differential equation third order with boundary condition.

Application of Vertex Colorings with Some Interesting Graphs

Firstly, basic concepts of graph and vertex colorings are introduced. Then, some interesting graphs with vertex colorings are presented. A vertex coloring of graph G is an assignment of colors to the vertices of G. And then by using proper vertex coloring, some interesting graphs are described. By using some applications of vertex colorings, two problems is presented interestingly. The vertex coloring is the starting point of graph coloring. The chromatic number for some interesting graphs and some results are studied.
