Variations Encountered in Umbilical Cord Insertion in Human Placentae from a Tertiary Care Hospital

Umbilical cord shows variations in its insertion at the placenta. This reflects the underlying modifications of fetal circulation in the intrauterine life. Knowledge regarding the prevalence of variations in the umbilical cord insertion is essential for obstetricians and peadiatricians to predict the developmental abnormalities in fetal circulation. The present study was done to evaluate the various types of umbilical cord insertions encountered in the human placentae delivered in a tertiary care hospital. 80 placentae with umbilical cords were collected for 6 months from the hospital with the concerned permissions. They were washed thoroughly and fixed in 10 formalin for preservation. Each placenta was observed carefully for the umbilical cord insertion. The results were analysed and represented graphically. There were no considerable knots observed in the stumps of the cords. All the cords had normal three vessels on cross section i.e., two umbilical arteries and one umbilical vein. When the patterns of insertions were examined, 71 showed normal central insertion, 29 were abnormal where 19 marginal, 7 furcate and 3 exhibited velamentous insertion. When compared with other studies, they correlated. The present study depicts the various abnormal types of umbilical cord insertions from the human placentae collected from a tertiary care hospital.

Traditional Processes of Food Fresh and Dried Fruits Production and Storage in Afghanistan and Their Impact on Humans' Health

Humans and animals have always had hard time for surviving. Their lives have been threatened on adverse ways, including the consumption of unhealthy food and in situations where food safety is not guaranteed. An example of such threaten on human life in third world countries like Afghanistan is due to the lack of awareness about healthy food, their productions, preservations, and consumptions. There are types of food which can easily get infected by fungi and those fungi are called Aflatoxin, and they are harmful to both humans and animals. Such types of harms nowadays threat the lives of Afghan citizens as they are producing types of food fresh and dry fruits that can be easily infected by Aflatoxin. This paper investigates Aflatoxin fungi and the substances that easily get infected with it and how they produce toxins in humans and animals food. The findings from the present study helps us know the harm as well as ways of preventing fungi in most Afghan fruits and can avoid eating food that are contaminated with

Masturbation, Its Facts and Myths

Masturbation is the act of touching one's own genital for achieving sexual arousal to have an orgasm. It is a very common thing to do. We are living in 21st century so there is nothing wrong to discuss about it and it never were. Although there are some people who masturbates but don't want to talk about it. Let's discuss why people masturbate. There is so many history about masturbation Life is full of all tension, anxiety, stress that we are getting daily either from work place or there is burden of studies burden of so much work loads. Some people masturbates to get relieved from all those things for a time being because masturbation reduces stress, anxiety and enhances good sleep for a time being. We all have sexual urge or sexual need. There are so many myths about masturbation such as, a woman cannot masturbate but a man can which is not true because everyone has sexual desire and everyone has the right to fulfill their urge. Even animal masturbation has also been seen. A couple can have sex to fulfill their sexual desire. But a single person who is not in a relationship they are generally prone to masturbation to fulfill his her sexual desire. Couples also masturbate together mutual masturbation . Each and every person every human being after hitting pubertal age group is generally in favor of masturbation. But everything has a limitation. There are some people who get addicted to it to avoid stress and life problems. If this occurs then the person will avoid problems instead of facing them. In a relationship mutual masturbation might be satisfying for some couple but on the other hand there are some relationships where relation could get effected badly. Masturbation has a great relation with psychology. Before considering we have to consider insight how we see a material , how we perceive someone, and where can we do it. Masturbation occurs in 4 phases  desire phase, excitement phase, orgasm and resolution phase. These phases are regulated by hypothalamus and amygdale of our brain. And there is hormonal turbulence occurs within the blood stream during this procedure. Masturbation not a bad thing to do but it should be done in a limit. Everything should be done in a limit because everything has a good and bad effect. So there are so many things to know about masturbation which we are going to see in this article.

Association Analysis for Yield and Yield Component Traits in Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.)

The experimental material comprised of 12 sesame genotypes of six lines (black and brown seed) and six testers (white seed) of various geographical origin. Crosses were made in ? Line x Tester ? fashion and thirty six hybrids were developed. The 36 F¬1s along with parents were utilized for correlation study to assess the relationship between yield and its components traits.

Biometrical data were recorded on twelve quantitative characters viz., days to fifty percent flowering, plant height (cm), number of branches per plant, number of capsules on main stem, number of capsule per plant, capsule length (cm), number of seeds per capsule, height of first node from base (cm), height of first capsule (cm), thousand seed weight (g), single plant yield (g) and oil content (%). Character association analysis revealed that there was a positive significant association of seed yield with number of capsule per plant.

Bio-Toxicity of Materials at the Nanoscale Level by K. Vinoth Kumar
Over the past decade, nano materials have been the subject of enormous interest. Nano materials notable for their extremely small feature size, have the potential for wide-ranging of applications. Nano material is a field which takes a materials science- based approach to nanotechnology. It studies materials with morphological features on the nano scale and especially those which have special properties from their nano scale dimensions. The particle size and surface area are important material characteristics from a toxicological perspective. In this paper, the definitions, types, transformation and toxicity mechanisms of nano materials are summarized. Subsequently, the toxicity potential of nano materials on plants and microbe also detailed.

Physio-Chemical and Microbial Screening of Selected Potable Water Sold in the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi Campus
Adequate supply of potable table water is a basic necessity for all mankind. Unfortunately, this basic necessity of man has been grossly deprived especially in the developing countries. Water meant for consumption must be potable: free from contamination by microorganisms and possess stable physicochemical parameters. And this is the essence of this research study. In this study, physico-chemical parameters such as colour, pH, odour, temperature and microbial indices: Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Salmonella typhmurium and Streptococcus aureus were investigated in potable packaged water sold in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi Campus, Anambra State,Nigeria. Six different bottled and sachet water samples obtained from different manufacturers labeled B1,B2,B3,B4,B5,B6 and S1,S2,S3,S4,S5,S6, respectively were examined physically, chemically and microbiologically.

Physical examination of the samples showed that they were colourless and odourless. Chemical examination of the samples showed they were within the WHO standards for temperature and pH except for water samples S1, B4 and B5 whose pH (8.6; 6.2 & 6.0) deviated from the standard . Water samples S4, B3, B4 and B5 indicated presence of E. coli where as S6 indicated presence of Klebsiella pneumoiae. Streptococcus aureus was present in B3. From our study, its suggestive that the packaged water analyzed were not chemically and microbiological fit for consumption though this need to be further investigated.

Effects of Nutritional Intervention on Weight Gain During Pregnancy

Obesity is increasingly common in the obstetric population. Maternal obesity and excess gestational weight gain (GWG) are associated with increased perinatal risk. There is limited published data demonstrating the level of pregnant women's knowledge regarding these problems, their consequences and management strategies. This study was done at Nupoor Nursing Home ISO 9001-2008 Certified hospital, City light, Surat. 100 patients were taken for the study. Out of 100 patients 50 patients have gone through regular nutritional counseling and weight monitoring during pregnancy. Their height, pre pregnancy weight, BMI, total weight gain during pregnancy, dietary habits etc. were observed and compared with control group. And finding suggests that there is a huge impact of nutrition counseling on overall weight gain during pregnancy.
