The Art and Science of Entrepreneurial Leadership in Manufacturing Industries - A Case Study of Selected Manufacturing Units in Industrial Estate, Vijayawada

The main objective of the empirical research is to identify and study, the styles of leadership in the manufacturing industrial sector in Industrial Estate, Vijayawada. The data was collected through case study method. Out of the 82 manufacturing units in the industrial estate, 50 are selected based on the line of activity and the type of industry, using judgement convenient sampling methods. 50 workers are contacted to assess the working conditions. The success levels of leadership style in terms of profit making employment generation and labour welfare are estimated. The schedule canvassed to the respondents including entrepreneurial leaders and labour leaders and workers are classified analysed to bring out results. The study found that most of the units are owned and managed by a class of entrepreneurs who can be designated as entrepreneurial leaders. An Entrepreneur is one who organises and operates a business Entrepreneurship is characterised by willingness to take up risk in pursuit profit. The present day dynamic world requires a new entrepreneur with new abilities of innovative management and leadership qualities. This type leadership style is entrepreneurial leadership style. The systematic analysis of the production process is the science and the practical application of methods is the art both of which combine into art and science of entrepreneurial leadership. The styles adopted are examined elaborating on the theoretical basis and they are found out to be a combination of autocratic transformational leadership styles with entrepreneur leadership style showing its weight. Leadership by example is also found to be promoting production in some cases. Team building leadership is the essential characteristic of the mixed type of leadership in the manufacturing units taken for study. The workers engaged in the production process are found to be not satisfied and happy because the labour welfare legislation is not found implemented satisfactorily. Labour legislation in the form of implementation of minimum wages Act, industrial disputes Act, workers compensation Act are not usefully applied because, most of the workers were engaged on contract basis without any contract registered under any law. Word of mouth and confidence in the organisation are found to be the guiding factors for continuing labour participation in the industrial production activities. Some sort of protection to labourers is observed in the study. It is that the same batch of labourers are preferred to be reappointed as workers when new orders are placed and opportunities arise for increased production. The labourers are in a way ""preferred labourers"". The manufacturing activity creates work for 300 to 500 workers every day.The presence of labour contractors is also observed and the contractor enters into an agreement with the key persons of the companies, the benevolent owners who are entrepreneurial leaders in practice. The production process has been continuing with the Manufacturers Association. The producers earn normal profits. Thus follow the shut down rule, taking initiatives to improve the industrial atmosphere to promote positive industrial environment and labour welfare to the extent possible. Inadequate implementation of labour laws cut throat competition make the industrial atmosphere highly severe and other factors build obstacles for faster industrial growth which is essential for economic development.

A Study on Paradigm Shift for Retail Credit Growthin Bank of India Bangalore Zone
As India saw flood of present day retail position in the course of the most recent decade, critical improvements have occurred in its retail scene. The creators felt it suitable to check the truth at ground level to learn reality in prior projections or observations towards the cutting edge opposite conventional basic supply retailing. Consequently an investigation was embraced, to a great extent depending on auxiliary information, to distinguish key patterns which thusly would give basic bits of knowledge to the academicians, specialists and approach producers. The examination was accomplished for a survey period from 2008 13 and figure period from 2013 18. Key discoveries incorporate a hearty development as far as number of outlets and turnover of both current and conventional configurations amid audit period. The conjecture is by all accounts more encouraging for present day retailers than it is for the conventional players. As the client are getting all the more perceiving, and endeavor to get an incentive for cash, accommodation and item assortment, the cutting edge retailer should rule out lack of concern to meet the developing and changing needs of the customers. The customary mother and pop stores need to go for significant makeover to stay important and a retribution power in the blasting circle.

A Comprehensive Study on Organized Retailing with Reference to Customer Preferences and Customer Loyalty in Indian Context

A Comprehensive Study on Organized Retailing with Reference to Customer Preferences and Customer Loyalty in Indian Context

The initiation of economic reforms made globalization an indispensible observable fact across all the countries irrespective of some protestations from a few parts of the globe. Globalization in quintessence means free trade of goods and services, capital, intellectual skill and knowledge among different countries. This in turn offers variety of products and services to the global market. Due to which the market has become highly heterogeneous and complex and also made the competition stiffer among the marketers. The needs, tastes and preferences of the customers are rapidly changing at a much faster rate. In order to sustain this highly ever changing customers needs, tastes, demands and preferences, the marketer need to be more organized to withstand and sustain the highly competitive market. Changing customer demand and lifestyle in turn has given rise to organized retailing in India. Retailing is one of the rapidly growing sectors in the service industry. It is one of the active and attractive sectors of the last decade and has become an intrinsic part of everyday lives. This emerging market is witnessing a significance change in its growth and investment plan. There is a stiff competition between the retail giants organized sector and unorganized kirana shops. The organized retail formats rapidly emerged in India because of the economic fundamentals, nuclear families, easy financing options, increase in the population of working women, rising disposable income, Dual Income No Kids. But its impact on unorganized sector is severe. It will take over the profitability and presence of unorganized sector in the years to come. Irrespective of that, organized retailers facing problems such as rigid tax structure, inadequate infrastructural facilities, high cost of real estate, stringent foreign direct investment FDI policies etc. Because of the support of government and the buying nature of the Indian consumer, unorganized retail sector is still predominating over organized sector in India, unorganized retail sector constituting 96 of total trade, while organized retailing accounts only for 4 . In the near days to come the entire gamut may get changed due to technological advancements and changing lifestyle of customers. Finally it develops a model for strategizing the marketing for retail industry.

Corporate Leadership: A Study of the Psychodynamic Skills in Growing in the Corporate World

January 05, 2018 0
Corporate Leadership: A Study of the Psychodynamic Skills in Growing in the Corporate World
Corporate world is changing as their leaders undergo personal transformation and move toward self-actualisation, and then bring their perspectives and values to the office. Corporate are also changing from within, as the people that make up those corporate are quietly asking and in some cases demanding, social and accountability and meaningful work. Leadership is both a deeply personal and a highly interpersonal undertaking.

Applying psychodynamic concepts to the ebb and flow of life in corporate contributes to the understanding of the vicissitudes of corporate leadership. The psychodynamic paradigm, when applied to corporate leadership, draws only on psychoanalytic theories of human behaviour, but also the work of many later scholars and thinkers in other fields who adapted and broadened the foundation concepts of psychoanalysis to encompass the hidden and overt dynamics that influence the behaviour of groups and even corporate.

As such a psychodynamic approach provides valuable frameworks and concepts for studying the shaping many facets of corporate leadership. In this paper, it is argued that psychodynamics skills are playing a vital role in shaping an effective corporate leader and its role is growing in the growing corporate world, with special reference to post globalisation.
