Forest Resources and Growth of Tribal Economy A Study in the District of Keonjhar

Forest Resources and Growth of Tribal Economy A Study in the District of Keonjhar

The tribal economy is largely affected by forest resources since they mainly live in and around forest areas. But due to increase in population, deforestation on various grounds and excess pressure on forest resources, their income is decreasing. Social forestry, though a welcome step, cannot be treated as a perfect substitute of natural forest. We can neither ignore the interest of the scheduled tribes constituting 8.6 of our population, nor can we afford lose our rich forest resources. At present the per capita income of tribal is only 56 of the per capita income of India. The pressure on forests for Non Timber Forest Products NTFP will increase further till we provide them the alternative sources of income. Hence, time has come to make appropriate policy decisions which can ensure their economic growth and protection of forest resources simultaneously. And for the successful implementation, tribal’s involvement is necessary. Their knowledge, culture, tradition, custom, beliefs, practices, opinions, view points and suggestions need to be considered while making plans, policies, schemes, etc., for their economic development. Keeping the objectives, namely protection of forest resources and growth of tribal economy a survey was made in the district of Keonjhar, Odisha. Both primary and secondary data have been collected for the study. As per our findings Goatery, Poultry, Horticulture, Medicine and Spice plants, Sal Leaf Plate making etc., could become the viable sources of income for tribal’s economic growth. The lesser the dependence on forest the more will be the protection and sustainability of forest resources. If solar power could be made a substitute of firewood for cooking purpose, it could perhaps be the most viable step towards protection and sustainable use of forest resources

Villages forms important part of our country. These are the suppliers of food and many other raw materials for the people and industries based in cities. But the infrastructure and waste management in village are in poor condition due to negligence of our government. Due to which the quality of land and water resources of village get deteriorated and the villagers suffer a lot of health related problem. In this review paper the ideas are provided by using which waste of villages can be disposed in a good manner and also it will reduce the pollution of land and water. This not only provide the villagers a healthy environment but also reduce the pressure on natural resources used in agricultural activities. Since agriculture is the main activity of villagers so indirectly the proper management and treating of waste will increase their income also.

Management Analysis and Innovation Management Model

May 14, 2020 0
Management Analysis and Innovation Management Model
Today innovation has become a matter of survival for you to organize them. Those who do not seek to innovate in their products or services are destined to lose their market share or even go bankrupt. Aware of this condition, organizations begin to use the methodology called Lean Startup, created primarily for startups. However, it has been observed that organizations that try to use this methodology face a kind of disorganization and create something called innovation theatres , where great projects are idealized, but it is not possible to deliver any substantive change to a product or service. To reverse this scenario, Steve Blank indicates the use of two corporate strategies in conjunction with the Lean Startup methodology in order to accelerate the innovation process in mature companies, what he calls the model of Lean Innovation Management. The objective of this article, besides pointing out what is Lean Management, is to argue that the adoption of this model in organizations will only be successful if the agile methodologies which support it are not considered just an innovation in the process of software development and related services in companies, but a new and competitive management strategy for organizations.

Roles Benefits and Challenges of Forensic Facial Image Comparison and the Nigerian Criminal Justice System

March 05, 2020 0
Roles Benefits and Challenges of Forensic Facial Image Comparison and the Nigerian Criminal Justice System
Globalization has not only ushered in tremendous changes in the global economic and political arena, it has turned the world into a global village. This is to the extent that event in one part of the world replicates itself in other parts. Of note is the introduction and use of forensics in criminal justice system which has taken roots in some nations of the world while its advantages are yet to be fully utilized in some developing nations of Africa, particularly in Nigeria. This study therefore argued that forensic science, particularly forensic facial image comparison or identification, is now a common method of technology adopted in the administration of criminal justice as well as in the detection of crimes that would have been ordinarily difficult to unravel. The study, thus, situated the challenges or failures of unravelling some of the crimes, murders and assassinations committed in Nigeria in recent years to underutilization of forensics by the law enforcement agency, i.e., the police, in its investigations. The study sees this as one of the factors that rendered the country’s criminal justice system ineffective in prosecuting an alleged offender and exonerating the innocent. This study adopted the historical and explorative research designs in its methodological component. This means that the study relied on secondary sources of data via textbooks, journal articles, official documents and internet sources for relevant literatures. The study proffered some strategies that would improve forensic techniques, particularly forensic facial image comparison identification, which can be used to boost the criminal justice system in Nigeria.

Data were analyzed using the validity test, reliability test, the classic assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, t test, F test and test of determination R 2 which is operated by SPSS 16. T test results in work motivation variables obtained t value of 5.530 t table of 2.007 and work motivation correlated with employee performance by 55 so it can be concluded that part there is an influence between work motivation variables on employee performance variables, then t test results the work environment variables obtained t value of 3.582 t table of 2.007 and the work environment correlated with employee performance of 35.6 so it can be concluded that part there is an influence between the work environment variables on employee performance variables. Based on the results of the hypothesis on the results of the F test obtained the calculated F value of 34.442 F table of 3.18 so it can be concluded that the variables of work motivation and work environment together affect the employee performance variables. October 24, 2019 0
The Effect of Price and Location on Purchasing Decisions at the Swalayan Maju Bersama MMTC Medan
One factor that is the reason consumers decide to buy a product in a company is price. What if the price offered by a company is cheaper than its competitors, consumers will make more purchases at the company. Vice versa, what if the price offered by a company is more expensive than its competitors, it will reduce the consumers decision to shop at the company. Besides the price factor that is no less important to attract consumers is located. The location or place of business that is easily reached by consumers has certainly influenced consumers in making product purchasing decisions in a company. Therefore, in this study, the authors use price and location as independent variables and purchasing decisions as dependent variables. The method used in this research is quantitative with an associative approach. The sampling technique in this study is probability sampling with a simple random sampling approach of 50 respondents. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to respondents who were consumers of the Maju Bersama supermarket with MMTC Medan. Data were analyzed using validity, reliability, classic assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, t test, F test, and test the coefficient of determination R2 , which is operated through the program SPSS 16. The t test results indicate that partially the price does not affect the purchase decision, while location influences the purchase decision. The F test of price and location variables shows that price and location simultaneously influence purchasing decisions. The coefficient of determination R2 of 0.590 indicates that the price and location variables affect the purchasing decision 59 and the remaining 41 are influenced by other variables not included in this study.
