The Impact of Principals use of Information and Communication Technologies ICTS in Effective Administration in Public Secondary Schools in Fako Division

This study sought to examine the principals' use of Information and Communication Technologies ICTs in effective administration in Public Secondary Schools in Fako Division. A quantitative research approach was applied to conduct this study and a structured questionnaire was used to collect data from 100 principals and vice principals in 40 secondary schools in Fako Division. The study sought to identify examine principals use of ICTs in effective administrative planning, organizing, controlling, implementing and monitoring activities which were the main aspects of effective administration considered in this study. 

The findings of this study revealed that most principals in Public Secondary Schools in Fako use ICTs -phones, computers, printers, internet, and radio, television and photocopy machines in administrative duties which these tools ease duties in different ways. ICTs has the potential in terms of time saving, accuracy, legibility, data storage, record check, and amenable for further references, comparative statements, task calculations, and preparation of report of school activities and performances as those principal the indicated frequent and high used ICTs also indicated a more efficient administrative planning, organizing, controlling, implementing and monitoring activities in their schools. Thus, the statistical test indicated that there is significant positive association between the use of ITC and effective administration in public secondary schools Fako as such it is recommended that principal should improve their level of proficiency in the use of this efficiency.
