This project focuses on the importance and implementation of Waste to Energy technology by deriving pyrolysed oil from plastic. The plastic opted for experimentation is High Density Polyethylene due to its properties favoring the process of Pyrolysis. Pyrolysis is the process of thermal degradation of plastic in the absence of oxygen. An experimental setup in order to accomplish pyrolysis was fabricated and thus, the raw pyrolysis oil was extracted. The raw fuel derived was vacuum distilled to obtain the clear pyrolysed oil, whose analysis conducted in a Computer Integrated IC Engine test rig. The performance, efficiency and emission test of the distilled pyrolysed oil was experimentally calculated by blending with diesel at different blend ratios.
