Women in Hospitality Challenges Admits Covid 19 Global Pandemic

Before the COVID, there were more than 2.3 million visitors in Sri Lanka. Travel and tourism income remained a significant contributor to the national economy. By 2022, Colombo will open more than 14 hotel projects in its pipeline to meet the growing number of passengers as per the industry strategy. Sri Lanka reported around 60 of its occupancy last year, but key indicators of Easter terrorist attacks revealed less than 2018 in April 2019. It has been predicted, for example, that 25,000 30,000 additional employees would be needed per year to accommodate for the expected rise in guest arrivals to the region, post COVID forecast. Still, only less than 1,000 hotel management training graduates have generated annually, as per the tourism industry higher educational institute figures. It needs to build a good picture of the hotel industry to draw more women into the workforce to bridge the markets expanding labour shortage, to meet state economic objectives, more efficiently. The industry is offering equal opportunities for woman from its initiation in 1966 after the II world war and expansion in the same year with the approval of parliaments Act No. 10 of 1966.

Examining the Dimensions of Rural Economic Development in South Sudan

Formulation and implementation of comprehensive rural development strategy is imperative for enhancing economic growth, poverty reduction, and delivery of quality services to both rural and urban inhabitants. A 6 month study was conducted to explore some aspects of rural economic development in South Sudan. A total of 400 respondents were interviewed using semi structured questionnaire. Desk reviews and observations, theoretical framework, empirical and two models of regression analyses were also undertaken. The results revealed that rural economy is a dynamic and instrumental socio economic system exposing to constant changes under the influence of exogenous and endogenous factors that achieve trivial level of development. Empirical and regression analyses showed that empirical functions by education level had a significant correlation between education attained and individual income and overall economic prosperity. The government is encouraged to ensure that sustainable rural development strategy is provided on the condition of economic growth combined with social transformations accompanied by the solution of socially important issues to bring about the desire changes in rural economic development, environment preservation, satisfaction of social needs of the communities, solution of the problems of social security and social policy. Further rural development strategies are highly needed for achieving sustainable development in South Sudan.

Assessing the Impact of Human Capital, Energy Consumption and Environment on Sustainable Development Model of Malaysia

This paper investigates the impact of human capital development life expectancy and labor productivity , energy usage, and environmental factors carbon dioxide emissions on the per capita economic sustainable development in Malaysia. We employed the adjusted net savings per capita World Bank to represent the economically sustainable development path in Malaysia. With the assumptions of possible structural breaks along the years of between 1971, and 2013, the Zivot Andrews unit root test was performed on all of the variables concerned. Following the bounds test method, we proposed the auto regressive distributed lag ARDL model for the per capita sustainable development path in Malaysia based on the impact of human capital development and environmental factors. We found that life expectancy, carbon emissions and energy usage have mixed significant effects on adjusted net savings per capita in both the short run and long run in Malaysia.

Covid 19 Pandemic and the Socioeconomic Development in Nigeria Evidence from Toda and Yamamoto Procedure

Covid 19 Pandemic and the Socioeconomic Development in Nigeria Evidence from Toda and Yamamoto Procedure

This paper investigates the impact ofCovid 19 pandemic on the socioeconomic development of Nigeria using Modified Toda and Yamamoto causality test for the period spanning 23rd March 23rd July, 2020. The long run causality test outcome indicates that there is a bidirectional causality running from Covid 19 pandemic to exchange rate and from Covid 19 pandemic to crude oil price while unidirectional causality exists running from exchange rate to crude oil price. This suggests that Covid 19 pandemic has impacted on crude oil price and exchange rate. It is recommended that Nigerian government should continue struggling towards achieving economic diversification and also ensure that safety measures given by the NCDC is strictly followed in order to reduce the daily spread of the virus in the country.
