Comparative Analysis of Different Numerical Methods for the Solution of Initial Value Problems in First Order Ordinary Differential Equations

A mathematical equation which involves a function and its derivatives is called a differential equation. We consider a real life situation, from this form a mathematical model, solve that model using some mathematical concepts and take interpretation of solution. It is a well known and popular concept in mathematics because of its massive application in real world problems. Differential equations are one of the most important mathematical tools used in modeling problems in Physics, Biology, Economics, Chemistry, Engineering and medical Sciences. Differential equation can describe many situations viz exponential growth and de cay, the population growth of species, the change in investment return over time. We can solve differential equations using classical as well as numerical methods, In this paper we compare numerical methods of solving initial valued first order ordinary differential equations namely Euler method, Improved Euler method, Runge Kutta method and their accuracy level. We use here Scilab Software to obtain direct solution for these methods.

Application of Markov Chain Model on Natural Disasters A Case Study of Fire Outbreak

Application of Markov Chain Model on Natural Disasters A Case Study of Fire Outbreak

Right from the beginning of life, the importance of fire cannot be over emphasized as man embraces evolution which is accompanied by new innovations, discoveries and technology. Despite its importance, fire outbreak causes negative effects on human being and the society at large. Poor dissemination of information regarding fire disasters, causes of fire disaster, mitigating methods and risk management has led to an increase in exposure the society to greater risk. Therefore, there is a need to predict the location that a fire disaster is likely to occur using Markov chain. The study revealed that fire outbreaks can occur in any place and at a different magnitude, therefore, everybody has to be on guard. The finding also revealed that places that experienced fire disasters will still experience in the future if not properly managed. We recommended that the government should create awareness through advertisement programs, training centers, seminars and encourage the integration of fire disasters into the school curriculum to ensure sufficient and effective fire disaster mitigation and management.

RP 163 Solving a Special Standard Quadratic Congruence Modulo an Even Multiple of an Odd Positive Integer

RP 163 Solving a Special Standard Quadratic Congruence Modulo an Even Multiple of an Odd Positive Integer

The author, here in this paper, presented a formulation for solving a special standard quadratic congruence modulo an even multiple of an odd positive integer. The established formula is tested and verified true by solving various numerical examples. The formulation works well and proved time saving.

RP 165 Solving Some Special Classes of Standard Cubic Congruence of Composite Modulus

In this paper, a special class of standard cubic congruence of composite modulus is studied and formulated the solutions. The discussion is presented here. This cubic congruence has three types of solutions. In first case, it has exactly 3 incongruent solutions in second case, it has nine incongruent solutions and in third case it has twenty seven incongruent solutions. First time a suitable formulation is available for a class of standard cubic congruence. So, formulation is the merit of the paper.

On Intuitionistic Fuzzy Transportation Problem Using Pentagonal Intuitionistic Fuzzy Numbers Solved by Modi Method

In this paper a new method is proposed for finding an optimal solution for Pentagonal intuitionistic fuzzy transportation problems, in which the cost values are Pentagonal intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. The procedure is illustrated with a numerical example.

Fundamentals of Parameterised Covering Approximation Space

Fundamentals of Parameterised Covering Approximation Space

Combination of theories has not only advanced the research, but also helped in handling the issues of impreciseness in real life problems. The soft rough set has been defined by many authors by combining the theories of soft set and rough set. The concept Soft Covering Based Rough Set be given by J.Zhan et al 2008 , Feng Feng et al 2011 , S.Yuksel et al 2015 by taking full soft set instead of Covering. In this note We first consider the covering soft set and then covering based soft rough set. Again it defines a mapping from the coverings of element of universal set U to the parameters attributes . The new model “Parameterised Soft Rough Set on Covering Approximation Space is conceptualised to capture the issues of vagueness, and impreciseness of information. Also dependency on this new model and some properties be studied.

Application of Mathematics in Mechanical Engineering

Applied Mathematics have been successfully used in the development of science and technology in 20th –21st century. In Mechanical Engineers, an application of Mathematics gives mechanical engineers convenient access to the essential problem solving tools that they use. In this paper, we will discuss some examples of applications of mathematics in Mechanical Engineering. We conclude that the role of mathematics in engineering remains a vital problem, and find out that mathematics should be a fundamental concern in the design and practice of engineering.
