    The article represent the results of researching opportunities to use a cotton yarn with a Lycra yarn instead of filament in the knitwear producing. For this investigation were knitted most common knitted stitches plain supreme , rib ribana and interlock using synthetic polyester yarns, cotton yarns and cotton yarns adding a Lycra thread.

    Textiles are an integral part of everyone's life associated with him from cradle to grave. It is used to cover human body, thus encompassing and protecting it from dust, sunlight, wind and other foreign matter present in the external environment that may be harmful to him. Textiles in apparel have retained an important place in human life, starting now into developing of newer high technology and interdisciplinary products. Among technical textiles, medical textiles are a very promising sector which plays a vital role in health of mankind. It consists of textiles used in operative and post-operative tasks in and around the patient and the medical practitioners. These products are produced either by weaving, knitting, braiding or other non woven techniques. 


    Medical textiles are broadly classified as non-implantable materials, implantable materials, extra corporeal devices, and hygiene products, protective and health care textiles. The use of such products helps to reduce the opportunity for contamination by biological toxins and infectious pathogens. A hygiene and health care textile consists of absorbent disposable products, such as baby infant tank wears, tampons, panty shields, etc. which are mostly single use items. Baby infant tank wears are made up of cotton fibres A Progress of vetiver finish in the Surgical Products such as Mask, Cap and Gown to kill the growth of microbes. Bacterial growth is one of the biggest fallout of non-hygienic atmosphere. Further microorganisms such as bacteria, mould and fungi also cause deterioration of textiles. Hence there has been greater interest in textiles and garments that offer enhanced comfort as well as protection to the wearer. Hence to prevent such rashes some kind of an antibacterial finishes is essential. The vetiver finishes in the surgical products are subjected towards Survey.

    Human ear will acknowledge as sound when frequency is in the range of 20 to 20000 Hz and more sensitive in the range of 500 - 4000 Hz. Heat and sound insulation panels are generally composed of nonwoven porous synthetic materials such as rock wool, glass wool, polyurethane, polyester and etc. Though these materials have excellent acoustic properties at high frequencies, their structural properties are not enough to defend against low frequency noise. Multi-purpose concert halls face a dilemma and they host classical music concerts, rock concerts and spoken word performances in a matter of a short period.

    These different performance types require significantly different acoustic conditions in order to provide the best sound quality to both the performers and the audience. Micro perforated panel absorber backed by air gap is also used in auditoriums and effective only in absorbing specified range of frequencies low frequency . Hence, it is clear that one type of acoustical absorbers is unable to attenuate wide spectrum of frequency noise. Increased usage of synthetic sound absorption materials leads to higher CO2 emission and other environmental issues.

    Therefore, many researches turned towards the production of insulating materials by using natural and bio based materials. Natural materials are becoming a valid alternative to synthetic materials and composite panel is proposed with coir fibre alone which is organic in nature, have excellent insulation against thermal and sound and more resistant to fungi rot. The present work has been focused on the sound absorption performance nonwoven porous coir matt mounted with and with-out air gap, perforated panel faced porous coir matt with and with-out air gap and perforated panel mounted with air gap.

    Study of Polyaniline Coated Fabrics for Electromagnetic Shielding Properties

    The interference of Electromagnetic among the appliances is one of the major problems to be solved at present. Electro-conductive media can generate and transport free charges, which can act as an electromagnetic shielding material. For light weight and flexible applications, here we prefer conductive polymer coating over textile instead of metals which are preferred traditionally. In this study electrically conductive cotton, polyester and polypropylene fabrics were made by coating poly aniline. 


    The conductive fabrics were prepared by in-situ chemical oxidative polymerization of aniline using ammonium per sulphate as the oxidant by a process of diffusion polymerization in a mixed bath.. The surface resistivity study shows that the treated fabrics show better conductivity. There are no significant differences between the treated and untreated fabrics with respect to thickness, air permeability and stiffness test results. But washing and rubbing fastness results show significant degradation of coating with loss of conductive polymer.

    An Analysis on Increasing the Loom Speed
    In this project, an analysis has been carried out on the speed increasing process of Cone over pick loom of 36" reed space, The parts like picking system, Shedding mechanisms, Brake, beat-up system etc are given importance in terms of design changes to give a smooth picking, checking and effective braking and also smooth running of crank at higher speeds. The loom characteristics with respect to the above mentioned parts are analyzed and to suit the existing loom parts, new designs have been evolved with the help of PV ATIRA loom part manufactures. 

    The parts received from them are analyzed for their effectiveness, in comparison with the existing parts. The picking mechanism, shedding systems and the brake are mounted on the loom after taking out the respective existing parts. The loom is run without any difficulty at the existing speed. The higher speed has not been tried due to non-fixation of the new checking device, central supporting bracket and the bearing for the crank, because of shortage of time. The analyzed facts reveal the advantages indication in the picking force, braking force etc. 

    The picking force is expected to reduce by 14%.Since spring swell is provided in modified loom, the peak retardation value is reduced by 24.3%. sley eccentricity ratio is increased by 7.1% as the connecting arm length is reduced. A sound level is another important factor. With existing parts the sound level measured at picking bowl and shuttle box are 102dB and 109dB, respectively. But in modified loom they are 97dB and 105dB. So, a reduction of noise level by 9dB is achieved by the modification which is an encouraging factor to go in for higher rate of pick insertion. At picking bowl noise level is reduced by 5% and at shuttle box, it is reduced by 3.9%.

    A Study on Properties of Modified Rotor Spun Yarn

    Fibers due to their large length-diameter ratio are the most effective materials in supporting tensile loads still. Many textile applications do introduce fiber compress ions either in a simple form or under complex loading conditions. The majority of these compressive loading's are directed laterally across the fiber axis like compression of fibrous assembly during draftee. Compression occurring to fabric during calendaring and embossing treatments etc. A special pre-compression apparatus was fabricated and mounted before the entry of fibrous strand into opening roller of rotor spinning frame. 


    Cotton Slivers were pre-compressed in this zone at varying loads and the effect of this pre-compression on the resultant yam has been studied. The yam properties considered for the study are the studies are U%, tenacity, elongation, hairiness and imperfections. The drawback with rotor spun yams is lower tenacity and elongation which always need an improvement. Modified rotor spun yams obtained as a result of pre-compression of slivers shows lesser U %, reduced thin, dick and naps, lower hairiness values and mainly improved tenacity, elongation and work of rupture which would be a vital point for the industry.
